According to the five year plan our aim and objective is to  introduce education grade 6 onwards in this school and develop the school into a secondary school.we also planned to introduce co curricular activities such as volleyball,netball,western band and girl guiding

 Descipline is one of the main issues of the students who reside in central colombo.I have introduce cub scouting to inculcate better habits and descipline in school.Though the school has nearly 150 years of hostory they have never had a cub scouting troop in school.It has been helpful in many ways in bringing up the school.To face the challenge of teaching sinhala language ,i have build a Library and a Reading table.

  I am Mrs. Gnei Roshani Preena Raban currently working as the Principal of St'Sebastian Sinhala Vidyalaya, Colombo 12. I joined the education sector in the year 1991 as an English teacher. I was first posted to Ihalamulla K.V, Ankumbura, Kandy where I completed 3 years of my difficult service. During my career I have served at St.Annes Convent, St.Anthonys College, Wattala and Gothami B.V.Colombo 10.                               I completed my training at Panideniya English specialists Training College. Reading for my B.A. English at Sri Jayawardanepura University and got through Diploma in English at university of Colombo. Challenges

  Giving a basic primary education to students in sinhala medium whose mother tongue is not sinhala. St.Sebastian sinhala vidyalaya is a primary school where education is provided to students who do not use sinhala language as their mother tongue. Therefore preparing them to sit for the scholarship examination in sinhala medium is a big challenge.The students are exposed to sinhala language only during school hours.They frequently use tamil language to communicate  The students come from low economic backgrounds.Therefore sometimes they skip breakfast.It is another challenge to get the students concentration into education .An empty stomache does not focus enough.
